Trim Levels
There are eight trim levels of the Expedition SUV. The XL STX is the base model with a nice range of standard features. The other models add more features steadily until the final iteration: the Expedition Platinum Max. Let's get into what differentiates the trim levels from one another.
XL STX: The base model gives drivers and passengers plenty of standard features to write home about, including power-adjustable heated side mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels, and plenty of other additions that seem quite rare for an entry-level model.
XLT: Some features that the XLT brings to the table include autonomous emergency braking, the addition of the SYNC 4 infotainment system, and available automatic climate control with rear-seat controls.
Timberline: The Timberline is where the Expedition starts upgrading its ability to off-road effectively. It includes off-road shocks, an amped-up radiator, and an improved suspension so drivers can take the SUV off the beaten path.
Limited: The Limited is where the Expedition starts combining all elements of luxury, off-road ability, and overall performance. Some of its prominent features include the panoramic vista roof, Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0, and more.
King Ranch: The King Ranch offers its drivers plenty of luxury. However, this luxury comes wrapped up within a rugged and durable exterior that promises durability. One of our favorite standard upgrades to the King Ranch is the addition of power-deployable side steps. These steps help make the vehicle more accessible and easier to enter.
Platinum: The Platinum model of the Expedition is the cream of the crop, offering most if not all the features available in the Ford Expedition range.
